Some things are better left to the imagination

So you know that phrase
"That's about as much fun as a root canal"?

Well, I used to just be able to say- "Yeah, that sure sounds like it sucks"

Today, I can tell you for sure that it does!

There's just nothing like staring at ceiling tiles for an hour or two while someone does unkown things with scary power tools in your mouth.

Then there's the added bonus of feeling like your entire face is swollen for about 4-5 hours, followed closely by the lovely throbbing head sensations. That's the perfect word for it.

Oh sweetie...that sucks! Of this I know for sure. I've had TWO! Just thinking about it makes me cry.

Lots of smoothies and ice cream. And it's OK because I said so!

Feel better soon.

Yeah, definitely not fun!

Hope you are taking it easy and enjoying the pain meds.

Oh love.

I had root canal and I actually enjoyed it.

Firstly, my Father in law is a terrific dentist and it was when Eli was tiny so it was nice to have a couple of hours to myself.

Secondly, he has TV's on his ceilings so I was able to watch grown up TV instead of Disney pap in the day time, bliss!

Aw, poor thing! I feel bad for you. I've never had one and now I really don't want to.

Hopefully you were able to close your eyes and go to your happy place (with Joe). :)

Yikes. That sounds rough. Though when my husband went to the dentist and had a filling, one side of his face was completely frozen and so he dribbled constantly for about an hour. I chose to mock him while he was down and his resemblance to a water feature. I got it out of my system, so now I have nothing but sympathy for you. ;)

Just checking in to make sure you're OK. Haven't heard anything for a few days and was a little concerned.

Hope all is well.

Yowzeers! I had quite a few posts of yours to read and catch up on! Sorry! But I'm glad your back. Broken teeth, a cut finger, no more Joey Mac on this blog! what is the world coming to?!?! =)

My wisdom teeth are impacted and I'm so scared to get them out! I also have TMJ, and opening my mouth up wide enough to not get something fleshy caught in a drill or hook might be difficult. Only being able to eat milkshakes, though, might be what finally gets me in the chair.

Shannon, I'm getting worried. It's been a month. Are you still recovering from the root canal? Or was it the holidays?

Hope you are ok. We miss you!

Anonymous said... Laura I'm getting a bit worried. I emailed you right before the holidays with my number thinking, being that you were going to be local, we could have you over. I'm really worried sweetie. I hope everything is OK.
