Oh how I wish that I could write about all of the fantastic things I accomplished this week in my efforts to slim down.
But alas, I have been a very bad girl.
I must confess that I didn't do a gosh darn thing last week. That's right, you read that correctly...not one single solitary thing.
I wish that I had a good reason, but I really don't.
Yes, I did have a stomach bug that lasted a few days. Which is probably why I weighed a few pounds less than I expected to when I stepped on the scale (for the first time since starting this endeavor) this morning.
I also had a lovely visit from my Aunt. I never feel like doing much when she's around. She just sucks my energy like a commercial grade shop vac.
Whatever...none of that really matters. What it really comes down to is that I just didn't even bother to try. I have no excuse for that, so I won't try to BS my way into one.
However, I do feel sufficiently guilty about my behavior and I am vowing to change from here on out.
Baby steps though. Trying to come up with a whole bunch of lofty goals will get me nowhere quick.
I saw a cool idea the other day that I'm totally going to steal. I'm going to think up a reward to give myself for each goal that I reach. I haven't had a chance to do that yet though, so you'll have to come back later to see what I come up with.
Ok, so now onto my goals.
I figured out that there are 16 1/2 weeks left this year. If I work REALLY hard at it, I think that I can lose 10% of my body weight by Jan. 1, 2009.
Keeping that in mind, my first goal is to lose 2 lbs by next Monday.
I plan to do this by
1. cutting out snacking after work as much as I can
2. drinking a LOT more water
3. limiting myself to 1 sprite/day (MAX) and
4. working out at least twice between now and next Monday.
(I plan to make use of the OnDemand feature on my tv for this)
As far as good music to work out to...no clue. I'll have to give that some thought.
