Let's get real baby!

You sure you want to see this??? Alright, here you go then. Welcome to my humble abode.

This is my home. I love the garden, mainly because I had absolutely nothing to do with it. Well, that's not entirely true...I put in the solar lights all by myself. The actual gardening though- not so much. That was the work of my former neighbor. I love it because each year I just sit back and watch the flowers appear, as if by magic. Although I must say that they seem to be getting a bit out of control this year. I know that people split the big leafy green plants (can't for the life of me remember what they're called) because they get so big- but I have not one clue how to go about doing such a thing.

So this is what I have going on.
Any suggestions?

This is my fabulous kitchen junk drawer. Need batteries? Check. Candles? Yep, got those too. How about a screwdriver? Scissors? Maybe you'd like to groom your dog and treat your asthma when you're done? Whatever you need, I'm sure I can find it in here if you just give me a sec.
And this my dear friends, is where I spend WAY too much time. Fortunately for all of you, today is garbage day...otherwise the desk would be a disaster. Yes, yes, I know it's looking a bit cluttered, but you should have seen it a few hours ago. Most days I'm not sure how I even find the keyboard to type on!

These are my absolute favorite pieces of jewelry. Unfortunately, my fingers have now gotten so fat that it has been about a year since I've actually been able to wear them. I know that I could have them resized, but I absolutely refuse to admit the possibility that I won't be able to lose the weight and fit into them again later. So for now they sit in this little pouch with a pair of earrings that I can't wear because the holes in my ears seem to have closed up. Pretty sad, huh?

Last but not least- my best feature...

my eyes.
I had pictures of both of them, but I can't get them to post the way that I wanted to, so I'm afraid that you'll have to settle for one. The other one is pretty similar though, so you should get the idea.

*UPDATE*
You can see my eyes a bit better in this one...and you have the added bonus of seeing that they are indeed similar to each other. Oh- and I'm not wearing any makeup...this is Real life after all!

I hope that you have enjoyed your little peak into my world. Come back again soon!

lol- your comment about your eye(s) cracked me up.

I know one of your plants is a spider plant but that is the extent of my helpfullness. :)

Your eye pic looks like mine! LOL! I couldn't get a very good pic either but I can totally see how gorgeous your eyes are!

Anyway, your house is CUTE! I like it a lot. We have yet to garden ($$$). I didn't wear my wedding ring for 2 years (part of that was because I was pregnant) becuase I was convinced it'd fit again if I'd just lose weight... well... finally resized it and I'm SO GLAD I DID!

I believe those plants are called hostas but I don't know how to "split" them?!

You're too funny. "the other one is pretty similar though" hee hee. you do have beautiful eye. Eyes. :-)

Your house is so cute! Re: the hostas, I don't know what I'm doing either, but when they were still little this spring, I just took a shovel and cut a few plants in half, dug up one half & replanted it elsewhere. They seem to be doing fine. My mom says you can dig them up anytime.

So glad you could come over and play

Your house is beautiful Shannon, and I love the garden . . . and that it causes you very little grief and easy to maintain! The rings are just gorgeous, I love them. I'm sure you will be able to fit the rings on your lovely fingers sometime in the future - don't you worry!!

I'm 33 years old and married to a Kevin too. Funny!

Is your wedding set a hammered metal? Gorgeous.

Shannon, I love your house! So cute! Your garden looks pretty good to me, but then I'm not much of a gardener, so most gardens look good to me!
Your junk drawer looks alot like mine did right before we moved! Now that's a junk drawer! A little bit of everything!
Also love your eyes and your rings. You know what, you can always have them sized back down when you lose your weight. I was so happy when I got mine resized so that I could wear them again. Totally worth it, in my opinion.

Your eyes are such a pretty color! I'm jealous. My eyes are the color of mud, lol.

Are your "big leafy plants" hostas? Because if they are they're super easy to split up if you want to divide them. Just dig them up with a shovel and separate the roots with your fingers. then replant the 2 of them. (or 3 or 4) I have a brown thumb and I've even done it successfully, haha.

By the way, your house is lovely!

Love your curb appeal--My home is fairly new (2 yrs) so it will take awhile to get the garden growing...I can hardly wait!!!!--patience! lol
Yes, those are hostas (two different types) and they are SO SO SO easy to split. They will come out in big clumps and they multiply like crazy..a little bit of muscle is all you'll need.

Great pics..thanks for sharing!

What a cute house! Love the eye(s)!
Re: hostas, I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure you can just take a shovel or hoe and stomp straight down the middle, then dig up and re-plant wherever you want. As long as there are roots, it will grow (is what I've been told). Good luck!

You crack me up... I feel like we're sitting out on the patio talking over a glass of sweet tes!

Your wedding set is stunning. Really. I love the unique beauty of it.

Your gardens are gorgeous! I think hostas are pretty hardy and you can split them up and move them around fairly easily.

The eye picture... made my night!

The plants out front are indeed hostas....and it looks like you have two really pretty varieties. So surprised you didn't remember that from Maine, seeing as how they seem to be a plague around here. *lol*

Wanted to pop in and say hello, so I did. Hope you don't mind that I kicked back and hung out for a while, made myself quite at home. Lovely place you've got here. Look forward to coming back, often.

Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving such a nice comment. I hope you'll come back, often.
