February 18th

Oops, I've been meaning to add a post for a while and I keep getting distracted.
That's probably mostly because I'm feeling guilty about my lack of effort over the last few weeks. I really got into a great groove for a while there, but then I ran into a whole series of obstacles and fell into the trap of getting out of the good habits!
I could list all of the reasons I haven't kept up with things, but all that they amount to is a big stinkin' pile of excuses, so I won't bother.
Thank you to Carol for checking out my blog and reminding me that there are people out there rooting me on and supporting me! That's just enough to get me motivated again.

My hours at work have been reduced for the last week or so, which is nice. However, I'm sad to say that I haven't taken advantage of the situation at all. I've been getting off work at 1pm, but then I have to come home and put Ciara down for her nap. In an ideal world I would put her down for a nap and then get my rear in gear and at least get some cleaning done. In the real world it goes more like this...
I get home at 1:45-2 and take Ciara to her room. She stalls and makes excuses until 2:45 and then finally decides to behave and take a nap. I go downstairs and try to find something to have for lunch since I only had a few bites of what was served as school lunch with the kids. I sit down in my big comfy chair to eat my lunch and turn on the tv to have something to keep me entertained while I eat...and get sucked into the couch potato trap and don't move again until 5ish when I decide I should get up and start thinking about getting dinner ready.
I have been really good about cooking excellent "REAL" meals since my hours have been reduced; but that's about all I can say for myself these days.
This week I am working more hours, but I still have 2 short days to try to get a few things done...so here are my new goals for this week!
1. Clean my bathroom while Ciara sleeps tomorrow!!!!
2. Continue to cook full, healthy meals for my family
3. Make at least 2 trips to the gym between now and Saturday
4. Get back to my "no junk food" policy!
5. Remind myself that I CAN do this on a daily basis.

Thanks for caring!

Shannon, totally achievable goals. You make sure you get that bathroom cleaned ths afternoon. I so easily get sucked into being a couch potato, is it an option to eat your lunch at a dining table and listen to the radio. I get transfixed by TV myself. You really can do this. Cooking good healthy food is a great start in itself.
